I have always been a stay at home at Christmas cosy by the fire family Christmas sort of girl, but in the future I would love nothing more than to travel around to beautiful destinations, explore the different cultures, and drink in the festive atmosphere.
I would love to go to New York first and foremost, the Winter Wonderland fully decked in Christmas trees, twinkly lights and holiday markets. Ice skating in Central Park sounds amazing, and partying in NY would be the perfect way to end the year.
Lapland is another destination on my list, the Christmas capital of the world in my opinion, with the opportunity to meet Santa, see the reindeer, and do loads of wintry activities which would be sure to create some amazing Christmas memories!
I would like to visit Germany, specifically Berlin, which is home to over 50 Christmas markets, and would make Christmas feel warm, cosy and festive.
Rome in Italy is said to have a very traditional Christmas take, lighting up the Colosseum and hosting a traditional Midnight Mass.
Also Edinburgh, Scotland, is beautiful at Christmas. My friend goes every year and really cannot fault the atmosphere there.
I read that Hong Kong in China really goes all out for Christmas, hanging lights from skyscrapers, blaring music from speakers and wrapping shop fronts in wrapping paper.
I would love to go to Australia at Christmas, purely because instead of cold weather and snow, it is bright, hot and sunny. What a change that would be!
Finally, Paris at Christmas would be lovely: not only do I think it is a gorgeous and romantic city anyway, the lights at Christmas and the festive atmosphere would make for a beautiful romantic getaway.
Have you ever stayed somewhere at Christmas?
